"Such a wonderful place in Vasto. Started off the evening with cocktails in the moody grey interiors that felt like an updated speakeasy. We moved onto food and I had the Pacchero with mushrooms for the primi which expressed the earthiness of the funghi ragu in its most delicious state as it clung to the well made toothy texture of the pasta. The veal scaloppini for the secondi was so tender and mild but intensified by the piquant citrusy sauce that enveloped it. A twist on the well loved tiramisu for dolce was surprisingly captivating and light yet retained the flavor profile of the classic. If you find yourself in Vasto’s centro storico, stop at this place for an unforgettable dining experience."

"Absolutely fantastic food. Had dinner here twice while in Vasto, and the first time we went I had the best pasta I think I’ve ever had, the Alghero. The second time the same dish wasn’t as perfect, but it was still incredible. The antipasti and secondi were also delicious. The food in this part of Italy is usually great, but this place was especially awesome. Great service as well, everything really well timed and they were super nice - they weren’t too busy, though, which certainly helped. Can’t recommend this place enough."

"Spending a few days @puntapennaseahouse on the lovely Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. We took a long walk on the sea this morning into the charming town of Vasto. I read a few impressive reviews of @12_cantin Chef and owner, Paolo exceeded our expectations. 1. Potato Gnocchi with sweet peas and calamari Gnocco di patate rigato, crema di piselli e calamari, con gratin de lime. Outstanding 2. Spaghetti Trappitara, a traditional dish of Abruzzo made with pasta, fresh olive oil, anchovies, garlic, olives, chili flakes Spaghetto alla Trappitara (piatto tradizonale) 3. Fresh sea bream fillet gratineed in crispy crust with potato puree. Orata sfilettata e gratina cotta al forno 4. Tender calamari with traditional breadcrumb stuffing with potato puree, lemon and green salad Calamaro con ripieno tradizionale (mollica di pane, odori), cotto al forno. And of course the local pecorino wine pairs perfectly with fresh seafood. Highly recommended for lunch or dinner."

"We are normally not tempted by the more modern and stylish restaurants but I am a chef myself and the reviews of 12 Cantin were just too intriguing. We were there at 6ish which is obviously early in Italy. The restaurant was empty which doesn't aid the atmosphere at that point. Initially, my lady wasn't impressed with my choice. However, Paolo took great care of us right from the beginning. Next, chef Massimiliano took his time to figure out what VEGAN options my lady would like. We immediately figured out that both truly cared about us. All the dishes were super yummy and the "Paccheri con porcini e tartufo mantecato" was beyond belief. The pasta was manifested perfection and the ceps to die for. After many years, Massimiliano was able to set a new benchmark. Bravissimo!"
